Sea Doo sport-boats were added three years later in 1997 and the full line of KTM motorcycles became a part of FMS the following year. Can-Am/BRP All Terrain Vehicles were introduced to our FMS customers in 1999.

Having out grown their location after 9 years, Michele and Monti Schmitt purchased 10 acres next to Wal-Mart, just east of their old building on Route #3 in the fall of 2003. They designed and built their new, state-0f-the-art motor sports facility in 2004 and opened in November of that year. They refer to it as “35,000 square feet of Fun!”.

In 2005, FMS added the Tomos Scooter line and two years, later in the spring of 2007, Vespa and Piaggio Scooters were added to their inventory offerings. Today, FMS offers FUN from 8 major manufacturers and 8 categories of products from Scooters and ATVs to Motorcycles, Utility Vehicles, Watercraft, Mopeds and Sport-Boats.

Fredericksburg Motor Sports also is home to thousands of accessories, riding gear, helmets and apparel from famous names in the motorsports industry. They have also established RideCare Service EXCELLENCE for the service department, a new standard of quality work done on time for every customer, every time.

Born in New Jersey, FMS Sales Manager Mike Debellonia moved to Virginia with his family as a youngster in 1984 where he graduated from Chancellor High School in Spotsylvania in 1993. Mike got the fever to ride motorcycles as a teenager and cruised around on a Suzuki GS 550. After graduation, Mike went to work for a local Volkswagen repair center as a service tech. His passion for street and dirt bikes continued and Mike owned many brands and models over the next several years.

Mike joined the FMS Sales Department in June of 2000 where he gained instant recognition for trust and fairness with his customers. Over the past 8 years, the FMS management estimates that he has sold over 2,500 motorcycles, ATVS, watercraft, scooters and boats. And because of his dedication to the customer’s satisfaction throughout every sales transaction, Mike has often sold people their 9th and even 14th unit. (Wow!)

In July of 2007, Mike was named Sales Manager for Fredericksburg Motor Sports and he is building his sales team by instilling his philosophy with them that “the customer is always Number One.” Mike is active in ordering new units and his currently working toward building a large inventory of pre-owned bikes in preparation for spring. Whenever he can, he rides one of his two current motorcycles, a 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 and a 2007 Yamaha FZ-1. (Mike obviously “feels the need for speed!”). During his spare time, Mike also enjoys camping, hiking and climbing and is an avid spectator of all motorcycle racing events.
